Research the details behind every broker offer
Regulation is the starting point for broker research, not a badge to accept at face value. A useful review identifies the legal entity serving the trader, the licence scope, the applicable protections and the conditions that still need independent checking.
Verify the legal entity and licence scope
Look beyond the group name and confirm the entity in the account agreement and regulator register. Check that the licence covers the services offered, the country you live in and the products you intend to trade.
Understand what investor protection does and does not mean
Segregated client money, compensation schemes and negative-balance protection address different risks. They do not remove market risk, platform risk or the possibility of losing money on leveraged products.
Use regulation alongside commercial checks
A regulated broker can still have complex fees, unsuitable products or weak support. After verifying supervision, compare execution, spreads, commissions, withdrawals, platform quality and the clarity of the risk disclosure.
